Hello Fashionistas! This particular shoot was supposed to be dedicated to my birthday! (I'm a St. Patrick's Day baby, hence the green and gold color scheme!) Unfortunately, the day I scheduled the shoot for was a 20 degree day, with the wind chills feeling like it was in the teens, and this outfit was NOT going to work in that weather. 40 degree weather? Definitely could have pulled it off! But not 20. So, I had to reschedule and thank goodness I did, because the weather yesterday was divine!

I always wear Green on my birthday! I have fond memories of being a young school girl and along with my Green attire, my mom would buy me a corsage to wear to school that day. Blooming white carnations, spray painted green with a bunch of baby's breath. I can still smell the spray paint to this day, the fumes would have me feeling a little light headed most of the day! My tiny little wrist could barley support the weight of the heavy flowers so they would constantly tilt to one side, and the glittery wrist band along with the glitter sprinkled on the flowers, made me super itchy! Despite how uncomfortable it made me, I always looked forward to going to Flower shop and picking it up, it became a part of my routine every year. But once those flowers went on, I couldn't wait to get home and take them off!

No corsages were used in this shoot, but I kept the Green theme going with this gorgeous shade of Green, like a Shamrock! The gorgeous Gold jacket representing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! Nature was the perfect backdrop for these bold & beautiful colors. To complement, I chose accessories that had a little spunk to them. Big Gold drop earrings with quilted detail, the boots had lots of cool straps and gold hardware, and the glasses packed a serious edge!

A bold red lip is strong and was the most fitting choice for this color arrangement. Sparkly Gold eyeshadow was kept light due to allergies! ((Sigh))

The moral of this story? There is always a pot of Gold at the end of the rainbow! Things may not always happen as we plan, BUT, you have to trust that in the end, everything will work out! We may not have shot when we wanted to, but the results were still amazing! They say that to be born on St. Patrick's Day one acquires the ol' Luck of the Irish, and I truly consider myself one lucky girl to have had such an amazing day, with great weather and positive happy energy all around! So glad we rescheduled! Always remember to dress to the beat of your own drum, even if it goes against what everyone else is doing!
